My NEW unit was out of date for 7 qtrs...Customer service was very helpful and I got the new ones.
I originally purchased a lower end Garmin. The main reason I returned the Garmin was it did not speak street names. I received this as a birthday gift. I have used it in the city (Atlanta) and just recently on an out of state trip. It gets you to the right location every time. The street name is invaluable because you don't have to second guess the system. Love the graphics, when you need to get in a specific lane. It comes up bigger. The option to do itinerary planning is great, when you know that you want to avoid a specific area i.e. downtown during rush hour. It always can route you to various stops during the way.
The POI categories are nice...Some of them are out of dates, so I need to figure that out. But it was cool; when I need to find a local hotel to spend the night, I access the system.
Another feature that can be annoying (you can turn it off) but very useful was the speed limit warning. We drove thru some small towns and used this feature to avoid speed traps. We were amazed how quickly the speed limits dropped.
The person, who bought this for me, wants one!!
